I’ve been spending the week thinking about what I want the themes of my first capsule wardrobe to be. I’ve decided to start it for the fall. That gives me some time to get a few pieces that I’d like to have as part of my curated capsule wardrobe as well as get myself organized and pack away what won’t be needed.

I want to start this process thinking about themes and overarching ideas. I want to make sure this capsule wardrobe will be still something I enjoy wearing and incorporates styles that I really like already. I also want to think about my environment and pick pieces that I can stick with and make sense for my area (weather-wise, work dress code expectation-wise, personal taste-wise).

I’m still working on settling on my final pieces, but I’m happy to say I’m narrowing things down. I’ve purchased a few pieces already and I’m now making a finalized list of what I have so that when I purchase the last pieces that I’ll need for the collection, I can set everything in stone and get going with this experiment. I’m ridiculously excited about this, honestly. It’s weird, but I’m excited to limit my choices to reduce the constant feeling of decision fatigue that I struggle with quite a bit. I’m also excited to turn my spending towards more conscious savings practices and I’m looking forward to investing more in home items and nesting a bit more.

What do you think? Have you ever considered doing something like this? Do you often find decision fatigue playing you? I’d love to know!
